White House Party Crashers Invited to Imagine RIT?

When a socialite couple crashed the White House state dinner in November, I jokingly stated to my colleagues that they wouldn’t have to crash our party – Imagine RIT – we’d invite them! We never did send them an invitation, but this is how it might have read:

Tareq and Michaele,

Rochester Institute of Technology will be the place to be on May 1, 2010. More than 2,000 student, faculty and staff exhibitors will showcase some of the most innovative and creative work taking place outside the Beltway at Imagine RIT. We hope that you will be able find time in your very busy social calendar to join us for what is expected to be a wonderful festival. The event is free and open to the public so you’ll be relieved to know there won’t be a guest list to haggle over when you arrive.

To ensure you receive the same A-list treatment you are accustom to, we have arranged:

1. Photo opportunities with our talented exhibitors;

2. A VIP Golf Cart to escort you around our 1,300 acre campus;

3. A sit down lunch that includes a Rochester favorite Dinosaur BQQ;

4. Special parking for any of the reality TV crews that might be with you for the day.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to accommodate your visit. Held annually each spring, Imagine RIT is the annual kickoff to Rochester’s rich festival season. For more information on the innovation and creativity festival please check out our Facebook Fan Page.

We hope to see you May 1 – rain or shine!
