The Sneak Peek Begins…

Each Tuesday between now and Imagine RIT on Saturday, May 3, 2014, we will share exclusive festival highlights.

Looking for an interactive exhibit that’s fun for the whole family? Check out Space Adventure – a playful exhibit that brings each user into space!

Integrated with the XBOX Kinect, Space Adventure allows visitors to navigate through space with gestural movements and voice commands. Just say “travel” followed by “Jupiter” and you’ll find yourself face-to-face with Jupiter. Sweep your arm across your chest from left to right and you’ll begin scrolling across the planet’s surface. Check out this brief video clip showing the system in action!

In addition to Space Adventure, there will also be three other smaller exhibits – the Digital Solar Explorer (DSE), Planeterrainium, and Scales of the Universe. Visit the DSE to scroll through the different wavelengths of the sun using a Wii-mote; the Planeterrainium to see the surface of Mars in 3D; and Scales of the Universe to see subatomic particles, ants, humans, the world, galaxies, and more in comparison to one another.

Exhibitors from the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at RIT: Dr. Jake Noel-Storr, Brandon Cole, Daniel Hudy

You can find Space Adventure on May 3rd  at Imagine RIT in the Science Center, Gosnell Hall, Rooms 1300/1305.
